Maharashtra:
Truly a "Great Land" and the most fascinating region of India. This
third largest state is one of the most industrially and commercially
developed states of India. Its chief city Mumbai, is the true
Financial and Industrial capital of India. But modern Maharashtra is
not the bustle of industrial and agricultural activity or the
frenzied pursuit of wealth progress alone. Very much part of the
everyday scene anywhere in the state are the signs of its great
religious, cultural, historical and martial heritages.
Maharashtra offers a traveler idyllic bliss in a land blessed by
nature. Quiet and beautiful hill stations, secluded palm-shaded
golden beaches, placid lakes and warm springs and a variety of
wildlife. These are all part of a land created as it were, only for
a relaxing holiday.
Mumbai (Bombay)
The commercial capital of the country. The city that never sleeps.
These are among the phrases used to describe this burgeoning
metropolis.
Mumbai pulsates with activity. It is a city that is disciplined by
no time frame-neither by day nor night. Mumbai is also the country's
financial powerhouse, the nation's industrial heartland, and its
economic nerve centre. Dazzling shopping arcades, exciting sport
activity, night clubs and discotheques, theatre and music, gourmet
restaurants and interesting sightseeing - Mumbai offers the visitor
a heady mix of all this and more.
Aurangabad
Named after the Emperor Aurangazeb. Aurangabad is a pleasant city
that is better known as a base for visiting the Ajanta and Ellora
Caves
Day 01 : ARRIVE MUMBAI
After arrived at Mumbai airport or station. Transfer to hotel.
Check in and relax for the evening.
Mumbai's skyline is recognizable in advertisements and pictorial
depictions stating the country's technological and financial hub.
It's an imposing skyline.
A walk on marine drive, the gateway of India, warden road,
university buildings, fort, town hall, Mumbai high court to name a
few. Mumbai is also known as the Hollywood of India or Bollywood
(from the names Bombay and Hollywood) and is the biggest film
industry of the world.
Overnight at Mumbai.
Day 02 :MUMBAI
Breakfast will be at hotel or onboard the aircraft. Relax in the
morning or visit the local market. Transfer to airport for flight to
Aurangabad.
Reach and check in at hotel.
Afternoon visit Panchakki, an ancient water-mill. There are cool
underground rooms which served as a hostel for students in the hot
summer. Also the shrine of a saint, Baba Shah
Musafir.Bibi-ka-Maqbara, the mausoleum of Rabia Daurani, wife of
Aurangzeb, patterned on the Taj at Agra.
Day 03 : AURANGABAD
Breakfast will be served at the hotel.
Proceed for a full day sightseeing with excursion to Ajanta Caves.
Ajanta caves : Nestling in an inner fold of the Sahyardi hills, 100
km from Aurangabad in the shape of a mammoth horse- shoe, are the 30
rock-hewn caves of Ajanta. The Caves date from the 2nd century BC.
Evening return to Aurangabad and overnight will be at Aurangabad.
Day 04 : AURANGABAD
Breakfast will be at the hotel.
Proceed for a visit to the Ellora Caves, Daulatabad Fort and
Aurangabad Caves.
Ellora Caves : Impressive in their own right is the rock-hewn
temples and monasteries of Ellora that lie just 30 km away from
Aurangabad city.
Aurangabad Caves : The almost forgotten caves of Aurangabad lie just
outside the city. Excavated between the 2nd and 6th century AD, they
reflect TANTRIC influences in their iconography and architectural
designs. In all there are nine caves which are mainly viharas
(monasteries).

Daulatabad Fort: Once known as 'Devgiri', this magnificent 12th
century fortress stands on a hill just 13 km. from Aurangabad. It
was given the name Daulatabad, the 'city of fortune', by Muhammad
Tughlaq, Sultan of Delhi. Initially a Yadav stronghold, it passed
through the hands of several dynasties in the Deccan. One of the
world's best preserved fort of medieval times, surviving virtually
unaltered, Daulatabad yet displays the character that made it
invincible.

Day 05 : AURANGABAD-MUMBAI
Breakfast will be at hotel or onboard the aircraft.
Reach Mumbai and transfer to hotel. Proceed for an excursion to the
ELEPHANTA CAVES.
On your way back, proceed to see the interesting sites of Mumbai.
Overnight will be in Mumbai.
Day 06 : MUMBAI- (Flight)
A short flight takes us to the one time Portuguese colony of
Goa, which offers a unique blend of India with a strong Portuguese
influence. We are transferred to our beachside resort to enjoy the
relaxing Goan lifestyle and sea activities. The beach in Goa offers
both quite and a public area where one would find lots of families
enjoying the silver sands and the local hawker selling home cooked
snacks. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07 : GOA
Today is free for leisure activities in this tropical beach
resort. You may also wish to visit the World Heritage Site of the
churches and convents of Goa, the former capital of the Portuguese
Indies. Of particular interest is the Church of Bom Jesus, which
contains the tomb of St Francis-Xavier, a great illustration of the
evangelization of Asia. These monuments were influential in
spreading forms of Manueline, Mannerist and Baroque art to all the
countries of Asia where missions were established.
Day 08 :GOA
Day free to relax on beach.
Day 09 : GOA
Depart to your home town after having a rich cultural and
heritage experience with relaxation on beach.
Nasik
A delightful town, usually bustling with fervent crowds, Nasik is a
classic mélange of the past and the present. It paves way to many
fascinating forts and royally graceful temples that possess an aura
of exuberance. This part of the terra firma is more than a dream
destination for zealous lovers of glorious travel. It plays abode to
most of the industries located in Maharashtra, including the
Security Printing Press of the government, the nation's currency
printer. The core of commerce and trade, it was earlier the
country's largest market arena.
Panchgani
Each place has something unique to offer. Maybe just one thing, but
a something that is it's own. A particular sweet smell, the way the
breeze hums or roar when it flirts with the trees or maybe the taste
of water. Or may be even a falling of emotion that you associate
with the hills when you go there for the first time. One of the
first things you notice as you drive into Panchgani are the number
of schools that are tucked away inside the curves and turns of the
hill station. In fact, you might know that Panchgani is famous for
its numerous Boarding Schools. Many prefers to get a glimpses of the
sweet blend or romance that fits all around.
One must see chart or marked out on the tourist map are places
excitingly named as Bhim Chula (Devils's Kitchen) and Harrison's
valley, which is one of the most breath taking sights of all. Sidney
point is another favorite tourist haunt. Then there is Parsi Point
the most windy joint, over looks the Krishna Valley and near blue
waters of the Dhom dam. Table land, the Panchgani Pleasure is a
hotspot which is unmissable. It is one of the largest Table Land in
the continent and famous for Film shootings.
Pune (Poona)
Situated about 170 kms away from Bombay, Pune is the cultural
capital of Maharashtra. For a period of a hundred years, Pune city
itself was the bastion of the all-powerful Maratha Empire. The
rugged terrain with its awesome forts and well preserved monuments
lies testimony to Shivaji - the 17th century Maratha warrior King.
After the Maratha Empire, Pune fell into the hands of the British,
who initially wanted to transform it into a monsoon capital, but
instead developed it as a military base and also renamed it Poona.
Today Pune is an important commercial centre with nearly two million
inhabitants.
